A Bright Outlook: "Imagining the Future of Anthropogeny," Sat., Nov. 19, 2022

Nov 23, 2022

Thank you to all who participated in CARTA’s virtual public symposium, "Imagining the Future of Anthropogeny," on Saturday, November 19, 2022!

CARTA is pleased to once again report an excellent online turnout for our virtual symposium, "Imagining the Future of Anthropogeny"! This time around, we had ~525 live stream viewers watching from 31 countries/regions, including Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uganda, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Thank you, especially, to those who viewed from more distant time zones!

Enjoy the symposium again (and again and again...):

If you would like to enjoy the presentations and Q&A again, or if you missed all or part of the symposium, the talks and LIVE Audience Q&A/Expert Discussion will be aired on UCSD-TV in a few weeks’ time and then permanently archived online on multiple online sites, including CARTA's Past Symposia Video ArchivesUCSD-TVUCTV: CARTA iTunes Playlist, and UCTV: CARTA YouTube Playlist. These recordings will contain high-quality closed captions to enhance your viewing experience. Closed captions are made possible through support from viewers like you, this time through the generosity of CARTA Patrons Ingrid Benirschke-Perkins & Gordon Perkins. We will post an update as soon as videos become available online (including the surprise "rap-up" by scientific rap artist, Baba Brinkman).

CARTA support:

Funding for "Imagining the Future of Anthropogeny," was provided by many generous CARTA donors, with special support from CARTA Patrons Donald & Natalie Handelman, and Elizabeth & Eli Shefter; CARTA Friends John Sterling, Donald A. & Caroline R. Stewart; and CARTA Supporters Mary Fitz, Karen L. Matthews, and Christoph Roehrig. These wonderful humans are keeping this event FREE for all to enjoy!

If CARTA added value to your understanding of ourselves as a uniquely adapted species, you can help ensure that we are able to produce additional informative content and share it for FREE with everyone, well into the future, by contributing to the UC San Diego/Salk Center for Academic Research and Training in Anthropogeny. To best assist CARTA to adapt as an organization to rapidly changing environments and technologies, please consider a gift to our general-use Center for Academic Research and Training in Anthropogeny (CARTA) Fund (Fund No. 3264). Sponsorships for upcoming symposia are available. Email khunter@ucsd.edu or visit the CARTA Support page for more information!
