San Diego Union-Tribune: Are schools reopening safely? UC San Diego experts recommend measures beyond state guidelines

A recent report about how to safely reopen schools, written by nine health and science experts at UC San Diego to aid in San Diego Unified’s reopening plans raises some questions about the way California is allowing schools to reopen. CARTA Member, Dr. Robert (Chip) Schooley (Infectious disease specialist and UC San Diego professor of Medicine) weighs in, "I do think that some of the issues about school opening or closing have kind of gotten reversed in terms of priorities. We’ve got to get the epidemic under control before opening schools."
